Section 01

A store is not a blog

Ecommerce search journeys move between category discovery, attribute evaluation, comparison, trust, and product selection. Treating every query as an article ignores the store’s real decision architecture.

Section 02

Give each surface one job

A collection should organize choice, a product should resolve fit, and an educational page should reduce uncertainty that neither template can answer cleanly.

  • Map the commercial parent category
  • Separate stable attributes from temporary filters
  • Create supporting education only where it changes a buying decision
  • Connect every supporting node back to the relevant selection surface

Section 03

Measure movement, not page count

The useful question is whether the category system increases qualified discovery, product exploration, and revenue—not how many URLs were published.
